Bedlam is an Indigenous North American and his people are the Hopi of Arizona. An oil refinery had been polluting the environment where he and his people lived and worked, and his father's greed was behind the arrangement. When Bedlam tries to take matters into his own hands, he is shot as a trespasser. The crane he was driving to destroy the oil plant crashes and uncovers an ancient artifact, which releases evil spirits which had been trapped within. At first, Bedlam doesn't want to accept his fate, which is to catch these spirits and trap them once more, but once he realizes the rest of his tribe is in danger, he accepts his destiny and begins to hunt them down.
