Petrichor is a transgender prisoner from Hearth who has to deal with the difficulty of the fact that the Landfallians who have imprisoned her recognize her gender as female, while the Hearthians imprisoned with her in the women's wing of the prison, are more bigoted and do not recognize her gender as female. Hazel and Petrichor both discover each other's secrets (that Petrichor is transgender and Hazel is a hybrid), and as a result, Petrichor comes up with a plan to escape with Hazel. Marko and Alana are simultaneously working on a better plan, which ends up coming to fruition and they rescue Petrichor and Hazel from the prison. Petrichor lets Alana know she is pregnant with Marko and her second child. She and Hazel have a particularly close relationship since they spent time in prison together. While traveling with the group of protagonists, Petrichor develops a sexual relationship with Prince Robot after he saves her life when she is attacked by anti-abortion bandits.
