Ianthe is a mysterious masked assassin who comes after The Will and turns out to be an anthropomorphic star-nosed mole whose fiancé The Will had killed early in the series. Her plan was to kill everyone he loves and then to kill him. She uses a magic VCR to watch The Will's memories through which she learns about the existence of Alana, Marko, and Hazel. She decides to go after them instead. Ianthe kills Doff, preventing the story from Alana and Marko's perspective from coming out. In retaliation, Upsher deals a damaging blow to Ianthe's face after which she begs him to kill her.
