South African member, Alias, whose secret identity is Frederick Ngebe Braumholstein, has been a reservist with StormWatch since 1993. Alias has the ability to shapeshift, making his appearance, voice, internal organ placement, and body mass imitate those of another. He can also use this ability to stretch his body and effectively emulate the power of elasticity. Additionally, he has superhuman reflexes and claws. Alias was brought into the team to replace the removed Senator Sonny Terns, but during Citizen Soldier's attempted overthrow of the U.S. Government, Alias's cover is blown and subsequently he is forced to abandon the mission and join the Team Achilles field team. Like Ajeet Singh, when the Authority took over the U.S., Alias was given a chance to leave, but he also chose to stay with the team.
