Born in Wakanda, Nakia was inducted into the ranks of the Dora Milaje, attendants of the king of Wakanda. She became seriously obsessed with King T'Challa, the Black Panther, and after trying to kill his then-girlfriend Monica Lynn, was ousted from the Dora Milaje in disgrace. Some time later, after being tortured and left for dead by Achebe, she was found by Black Panther enemy Killmonger, and brought back to health at the Altar of Resurrection and thenceforth known as 'Malice'. She then became a life-long enemy of Black Panther.
