Dr. Wilma Calvin was a biochemist who worked for S.H.I.E.L.D. on Project Gladiator to rediscover the super-soldier serum. The project was sabotaged and accidentally turned her associate Dr. Ted Sallis into the Man-Thing. After enduring many hardships she was eventually killed by her son Percy to try to attract the attention of Mockingbird (Bobbie Morse) who had received an injection of the super-soldier serum. Percy hoped to capture her and study her to learn more about the serum.
