Aspiring actress Julie Angel was roommate to Frankie Raye, who was Johnny Storm's girlfriend. When Galactus claimed Frankie as his newest herald, Johnny was hurting and went to Julie for comfort and began to have a crush on her. Julie took on Sharon Selleck as roommate at about the same time that Julie became interested in fellow acting class member Grey Landers. Sharon unsuccessfully tried to get Johnny to notice her. A four-way love rectangle ensued and eventually all went their own way after surviving dangerous adventures with both Annihilus and the Skrulls.
