Jewelee is one of a pair of puppeteers who were professional criminals by night. She and Punch come upon a stash of alien weapons, which they master the use of, and go into crime full-time. In the New Earth continuity, Punch and Jewelee are married and have one son. In the Prime Earth continuity, Jewelee is one of a pair of romantically involved criminals who ends up serving a life sentence without parole in Arkham Asylum after committing a string of murders. After the disappearance of her criminal partner and lover, Punch, Jewelee goes catatonic. A couple of years later, she is recruited by Batman to join his Suicide Squad, and he reveals the whereabouts of Punch (who turns out to be the reason Batman recruited Jewelee in the first place). She and Punch work with the team to rescue Psycho-Pirate from Santa Prisca after Batman helps them escape Arkham.
