Supergirl
Linda Danvers first appeared in Supergirl Plus #1 (1997-02), published by DC. 22 appearances are indexed across 9 series.
Linda Danvers was an ordinary girl living in Leesburg. She fell in with a bad crowd, led by Buzz, who lured her into his demonic cult. Little did Linda know, but Buzz intended to use her as a sacrifice for the cult. After kidnapping her, Buzz cut Linda with a dagger in order to use her blood to summon a demon. However, Matrix (Supergirl) intervened, stopping the ritual, but not before Linda was mortally wounded. Using her shapeshifting powers to try and save Linda, Matrix instead merged with her. Matrix and Linda formed a new Supergirl, with Matrix as the dominant personality. Matrix and Linda were later separated, but Linda retained a portion of Supergirl's powers. She created a new white, blue, and red costume, and continued her role as Supergirl. Later, Linda decided to take the place of the 15-year-old Earth-One Supergirl, who had accidentally arrived in her reality, so that it would be she who eventually died in the Crisis on Infinite Earths, but this act merely created an alternate timeline. Linda married Superman in that timeline and had a daughter, Ariella Kent. The Earth-One Supergirl was sent back to her own reality to fulfill her destiny, and Linda abandoned her Supergirl identity and took off for parts unknown.
