Kali the Black Madness, Lords of Light and Darkness

Dr. Karen Lee, a geologist, was previously married to Stephen Marchesi and is currently married to Si Fan Chung (Shiva). When an earthquake demolished their government laboratory, she and her colleagues underwent a transformation, gaining superhuman abilities and becoming the Lords of Light and Darkness. They battled against the X-Men and Spider-Man before being transported into space. There, they underwent another transformation, becoming an energy state that appeared to observers on Earth as a new star.
