Son of Happy Terrill (The original Ray) and his wife Gayle. Half-brother of Ray Terrill (the second Ray). Joshua was born in February 1946. As a child, he became his father's sidekick, named Spitfire, however his powers caused him to become prone to fits of rage. On his eighth birthday, in February 1954, Joshua flew into a rage because his father was busy on a mission. He unleashed his power and destroyed his house, killing his own mother. Happy took Joshua to breakfast and drugged his food, then locked him in a cryogenic chamber located in a missile silo. He then retired as The Ray. In the 1990s, scavengers broke into the silo, which had been abandoned for over a decade, and inadvertantly released Joshua from his chamber.
