Superman is exposed to a "triple k" alloy composed of red, green, and gold kryptonite. The first delayed reaction makes his costume radioactive. He removes it and places it in a lead-lined chest. The second delayed reaction takes away his super-powers. The third delayed reaction blanks out Clark's memory of ever having been Superman. Some time later, Clark Kent and Lois Lane marry. Shortly after their honeymoon, Clark goes on an assignment in Tibet and becomes lost for five years. After he is rescued and returns home, Clark discovers that he has a son. Clark learns that Clark Jr. has super-powers, which Lois theorizes is due to exposure to the super-souvenirs that Superman had given her. Years later, a Superman robot is inadvertently activated. The robot ushers Clark into his secret closet, and upon seeing his radioactive costume, Clark regains his memory. Before Clark can tell Lois what he's learned, they are both kidnapped by Lex Luthor. Luthor's schemes get Lois killed, and ultimately Clark is rescued by his son. Clark tells Clark Jr. that he is ready to become the new Superboy.
