Arclight was a soldier during the Vietnam War, working with American peacekeeping forces in Southeast Asia. Her memories of the war are traumatic and she still has nightmares about her time there. She was recruited into the Marauders by Gambit, and has been on most of the team's missions, though it is uncertain whether it is the actual Arclight or a clone because the original mutant has been cloned many times and has appeared to have been killed a number of times as well. Arclight has a bodybuilder's physique and superhuman strength, endurance, durability, and stamina, in addition to being able to generate shockwaves. Arclight has also been trained in hand-to-hand combat, which she executes with above average skill, as well as covert ops. Arclight's real name is Philippa Sontag, and she is romantically involved with her fellow Marauders team member, Scalphunter. While Arclight served mainly in the Marauders, she also spent some time in the 198 and the Femizons.
