Funnyman is Larry Davis, a comedian who dressed up in a clown-like costume in order to stop a fake criminal as part of a publicity stunt arranged by his manager, June Farrell. However, after inadvertently stopping a real criminal, Davis decided he enjoyed it and decided to continue fighting criminals as Funnyman. Based out of Empire City, the Comedic Crimebuster uses a variety of themed gadgets and eccentric devices (including his Jet-Jallopy automobile and Trix-Cycle motorcycle), as well as an endless amount of verbal quips and jabs, in his superheroic efforts. Funnyman's "home-sweet-home" is Funnymanor, a carnival-like structure with mirror-maze rooms, trap doors and other comedic gadgets rigged to confound crooks.
