Also known as Tex N. Thomas
Tex N. Thomas, a high school physical education and chemistry teacher, and Dan Dunbar, his star pupil, spend long hours after school at the chemical work bench performing intricate experiments. They learn that they've uncovered a new way of releasing energy from a certain radioactive salt. One memorable evening, when their hands touch accidentally, they discover that they've been charged with atomic energy. Tex realizes that the mixture he holds in his hand is the positive element, while Dan holds the negative element. The radioactive vibrations passed through their bodies. Tex concludes that by making brief contact they could super-charge their systems for a few minutes. Fearing that a fool or madman could use it to enslave the world, they decide to keep their discovery a secret. Not wanting to let their power go to waste, they become determined to use it to fight crime. Their secret of atomic energy is concealed in two rings which they wear, and together they challenge evil as TNT and Dan the Dyna-Mite.
