Bruce Banner from Earth-295 worked for the U.S. government as a scientist under Dr. Thaddeus Ross during the early days of the Age of Apocalypse. He later moved to Europe and worked for the Human High Council. Mikhail Rasputin, the "Lost Horseman" of Apocalypse, made a deal with Banner to bring him test subjects in exchange for his loyalty. Banner did experiment on himself as well, giving himself the ability to change at will from his human form to that of The Thing, his alias in this universe.
