Atlas is the son of Iapetus the Titan and Clymene (or Asia), an Oceanid. Brother of Epimetheus, Menoetius, and Prometheus. Atlas had many children, including the Hesperides, the Hyades, the Pleiades, and the nymph Calypso. He was condemned to hold up the sky on his shoulders following the war between the Olympians and the Titans.
