Lola Daniels was an American telepath recruited out of college by the U.S. Department of Defense due to her mind-reading abilities. Working undercover at the Pentagon, she was assigned to date S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Phil Coulson to extract strategic information on superhumans, information that was later used in the development of the Quantum Drive. Her tenure became tumultuous as she crossed paths repeatedly with Coulson, revealing the theft of the Quantum Drive and being used to interrogate Iron Maiden before being arrested again. After being freed by Grant Ward, she was ultimately killed by him when she resisted his plans, making her a tragic figure caught between powerful spy agencies and covert agendas.
