Jim Carson was both a professional ventriloquist and an amateur detective. As Echo or The Echo, he fights crime by throwing his voice. His assistants included his sister, Cora, and his chemist, older brother, Dr. Doom. Besides his ventriloquism, Echo used an invisibility belt and a radioactive ring which allowed him to fire paralyzing beams from his eyes invented by his brother.
