In 2093 AD, an expedition was sent out to colonize one of Jupiter's moon, Ganymede, but their ship passed too close to Jupiter and became trapped. The crew was forced to settle on the inhospitable giant, laboring to maintain life under 2.5 times the weight they had known on Earth. One of the colonists, named Aarn Munro, eventually had a son, later to be known as "Iron" Munro. Iron had become accustomed from infancy to the terrible drag of Jupiter's gravity. For more than a quarter of a century, the colony was marooned there. When their supplies start to run low, Iron Munro proposes that he attempt to use a new anti-gravity ship that he has invented to attempt to reach Earth. His mission is a success. When he lands on Earth, Iron discovers that in Earth's lesser gravity he possesses tremendous strength and speed. With the help of Spencer Carlisle, President of American Rocket, Iron Munro is able to build a larger ship using his new technology, which they intend to use to rescue the remaining colonists. Unfortunately, while on their way back to Jupiter, their ship is thrust into another universe.
