He invites people to bid and try on the gauntlet in an attempt to find a Witchblade Bearer. Sara's partner, Michael Yee, is captured and beaten by Irons' men, and when they are about to shoot him, Sara jumps in front of the bullets to save him, causing the Witchblade to choose her as its host and heal her wounds. She was unable to save Yee.
