Creator/Dell
Tex O'Reilly has 10 credited comics indexed across 5 series, working as writer.
Edward Sinnott "Tex" O'Reilly was an American adventurer, soldier of fortune, writer, journalist, and film actor. He is best known as the creator of the fakelore character Pecos Bill. Together with artist Jack A. Warren, he produced a Pecos Bill newspaper strip that ran from 1936 to 1937. The strip was later reprinted in Dell’s The Comics. Earlier, the pulp magazine Adventure had published the stories by O'Reilly: "Pecos Bill" (1 January 1935), "Pecos Bill's Wedding" (15 January 1935), "Pecos Bill Goes Hunting" (1 February 1935), and "Man of Might" (15 February 1935), all illustrated by Warren. Some sources say that Warren changed the character's name to Pecos Pete after O'Reilly's death in 1946; however, Pecos Pete appears in Air Fighters Comics (Hillman, 1941 series) #1 (November 1941).
