Pino attended the the Art Institute of Bari and Milan’s Academy of Brera. From 1960 to 1979, he was painted book covers and illustrations for various publishers including Mondadori and Rizzoli. During this period he illustrated covers for many Italian comics. In 1978 he moved to New York and painted romance covers for Dell, Zebra, Bantam, Simon & Schuster, Penguin USA, Dell, and Harlequin. It is estimated that he has painted over 3,000 covers.
