Bayo began working as an advertising artist in Lugo. He drew the strip Pelúdez strip for the Lugo newspaper El Progreso. He moved to Madrid and alternated work between advertising and comics. He is most known for the comics based on the science fiction radio serial 'Diego Valor' for Editorial Cid where he and Adolfo Buylla were the first team to draw it. He also illustrated several installments of the 'Guillermo' series in Chicos, and was the artist of the 'Atome Kid' comic.
