Olivia Jaimes is the pseudonym of an American cartoonist who previously authored and illustrated the daily comic strip, *Nancy*. She is notable for reviving and being the first female creator on the more than 80-year-old comic strip, creating material for a modern audience with modern sensibilities. The Jaimes-era *Nancy* relied heavily on current trends and technologies. Smartphones, social media, ear buds and robotics club played major roles in the setting Jaimes created. Jaimes took over the comic strip from Guy Gilchrist on April 9, 2018, who had stepped down earlier in the year. Artistically, Jaimes' style deviated significantly from Gilchrist's, portraying Nancy more like Ernie Bushmiller's Nancy. Her tenure on the strip continued until May 2024. A series of temporary fill-ins followed until Jaimes resumed in early September 2024. On September 15, 2025, Jaimes announced that she was stepping down from the strip. Repeats of strips by Nancy creator Bushmiller were published for the rest of the year, with one final strip by Jaimes being published December 31, 2025. Little is known about Jaimes' identity, background or other work. She made an appearance at a small Ohio convention a few months after her debut on *Nancy*, albeit in heavy disguise.
