Ernest Hemingway was an American novelist, short story writer and journalist known for a concise but impactful writing style. Born in Oak Park, Illinois, he gained fame with "The Sun Also Rises" (1926) and later works including "A Farewell to Arms" (1929) and "The Old Man and the Sea" (1952), which won the Pulitzer Prize. He received the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1954. Several of his works have been adapted into comic books and graphic novels in the years following his death, and his writing style has been called significantly influential to many 20th-century writers and modern literature.
