Kostas Aronis is a Greek architect, painter, illustrator, author, scenographer and educator. He was born in 1957 in Thessaloniki where he still lives. His first comics work was published by ASE (ΑΣΕ) in 1986 where he worked in the series "Κάνω κόμικς" (I Make Comics). Together with scenarist Tasos Apostolidis he has adapted Sophocles' tragedy "Antigone" to a comic album published in Greece by Metaichmio. He has also taken part in "Graphic Classics: Jack London" and "Graphic Classics: Bram Stoker" published in the USA by Eureka Productions. He studied architecture in Aristotle University of Thessaloniki where his teachers included Nikos Sachinis, George Lazongas and Ioanna Manoledaki. He has worked as an illustrator and cartoonist for numerous magazines including "Para Pente", "Playboy", "Tram", "Hi Life", "Epiloges", "Neo Epipedo", "The Mylos Magazine", "Close Up" and "9". He has been featured many times in TV shows about comics in Greece and has participated in conferences about comics and illustration. He has participated in many comics and art exhibitions in Greece and internationally, including the Rome Bienalle with his scenography work, and served in the selection committee of the 1st and 2nd International Comics Salon in Belgrade in 2003 and 2004. He taught in various art schools and was a director in A.K.T.O. Art and Design school, while currently he teaches at his own art and architecture workshops in Thessaloniki and Veroia. He has published three collections of short stories, "Ανάμεσα στα πόδια τους" (Ianos, 2001), "Στο Δίκτυο είναι αλλιώς" (Ianos, 2005) and "Ένας ακάλυπτος απόσταση" (Graphima, 2010) He is a founding member of the Achthos (Άχθος) cultural organization, through which he has done performances and installations, the Amalgama (Αμάλγαμα) artists initiative, and the Association of Fine Artists of Northern Greece (ΣΚΕΤΒΕ).
