Cartoonist and painter who was first published in the late eighties. Has credits in the Fantagraphics anthology series Pictopia as well as the Simon & Schuster book Mind Riot: Coming of Age in Comix (1997). He edited the manga anthology Comics Underground Japan (Blast Books, 1996) after meeting many alt-cartoonists in Japan. Was also published in Garo magazine. His 1997 book Big Place Comics was a Xeric award winner. In 2001 he began a comic strip titled June Bug vs. Hurricane. Is now a novelist and nonfiction writer.
