He has a twin brother. The taste for drawing came to him with a gift from his grandmother: watercolors at the age of 9-10 years. He took courses at the Institute for the Teaching of Technical Arts, Sciences and Crafts (IATA) in Namur, then he briefly attended the École supérieure des arts Saint-Luc in Liège. Goum regularly draws short stories for the magazine Spirou. In 2005, he created the character of Frédo Sakado. In 2014 Goum also creates the graphics for several animated projects with, for example, Mr Hublot, a short film by Zeilt Productions which won an Oscar in 2014. Goum also works in the musical scene. He created L'Ombre Animation, an group of artists and animators.
