Colmán Ó Raghallaigh, an author, historian and schoolteacher, founded the publishing house Cló Mhaigh Eo with his wife Mairéad in 1995 to publish books in Irish Gaelic for children and young people. He is the author of the graphic novels "An Sclábhaí" ("The Slave", 2001) and "An Teachtaire" ("The Messenger", 2003) with art by Tomm Moore, "An Tóraíocht" ("The Pursuit", 2002) with art by Paul Young, and "An Táin" ("The Cattle-raid", 2006) and "Deirdre agus Mic Uisnigh" ("Deirdre and the sons of Uisnech", 2008) with art by Barry Reynolds. He has received Special Merit Awards from the Reading Association of Ireland and the Oireachtas in 2003 and 2004, as well as the Bisto Merit Award in 2002 and 2003. In 2006, "An Táin" won the Irish Language Book of the Year Award for Young People (Leabhar Na Bliana do Dhaoine Óga) at the Oireachtas na Gaeilge.
