Eric July was born in Dallas, Texas. In the early 2000s, he released a rap track and was ghostwriting for other musicians in the Dallas area. He attended University of Memphis on a track and field scholarship before transferring to Texas A&M University--Corpus Christi. He started a YouTube channel in May, 2007 and began using that to discuss politics, pop culture and comic books. In 2022, he launched his own comic universe -- the Rippaverse -- and self-published Isom #1.
