Comics writer Tom Fellrath is the editor and publisher of Phoenix Productions, which began in 1987 when he was still a teenager in high school. Among the zines he published in the 1980s were "Mass Digest," "Fandom" and "Heroic." With his friend Matt Kanaracus (publisher of Synapse Comics), Fellrath created superheroes like The Light and Patriot for their small-press comics. He also created Laser-Disc, Accelerator and Hologram -- characters that he would revisit with new stories upon returning to comics in 2021 after a long hiatus (since 1989).
