Cecel Elaine Jackson, daughter of comic artist A. E. Jackson, was born on 14 December 1903 in Upper Holloway, London. She studied at Hastings Art School alongside her sister, Muriel; both pursued careers in illustration, following their father's path. Elaine contributed to publications such as Tiger Tim's Weekly, Rainbow, and Playbox, and was employed by Amalgamated Press until 1936. That year, she married Douglas Jones and subsequently appears to have ceased her artistic work. She passed away in Hastings in April 1986.
