The Bruguera Equip was a group of eleven illustrators and writers formed by Editorial Bruguera, active in the 1970s and 1980s. Initially formed to assist Francisco Ibáñez Talavera in creating stories based on his famous characters, such as Mortadelo y Filemón, the group continued its work after the author’s departure in 1985. Afterward, the Bruguera Equip took on the responsibility of continuing the production of Ibáñez’s works, creating new stories without his consent. The group remained active until 1988, when Ibáñez signed a contract with Grupo Zeta, which had acquired the rights to Bruguera following the collapse of the publishing giant. This marked the end of the Bruguera Equip's activities and brought an end to the dispute over the rights to the characters.
